Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 September 2026
BioHelm ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it's protected.
1. What We Collect
- Account data: email address, password (hashed, never stored in plain text).
- Biomarker data: values you manually enter (e.g. ApoB, hsCRP, Fasting Glucose), along with test dates. This is health-related data.
- Payment data: we do not directly collect or store credit card information. Payment is handled entirely by Paddle.com, our payment processor, who collects and processes billing details under their own privacy policy.
- Usage data: basic technical data (e.g. login timestamps, browser type) for security and service reliability.
2. Why We Collect It
We use your data solely to: provide the Service (store and display your biomarker history, generate trend charts and Doctor Visit Prep documents); process payments (via Paddle); maintain account security; and communicate with you about your account (e.g. password resets, receipts).
We do not sell your data. We do not share your biomarker data with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.
3. Health Data — Special Note
Biomarker values you enter are sensitive personal health information. We treat this data with additional care:
- It is stored in our database with access controls designed to ensure your data is only ever accessible to your own authenticated account.
- We do not use your biomarker data to train any AI model or share it with any analytics or advertising service.
- You can request deletion of your account and all associated biomarker data at any time by contacting hello@biohelm.net.
4. Third-Party Processors
- Paddle.com — payment processing, billing, tax handling. Paddle acts as merchant of record for your purchase. See Paddle's privacy policy at paddle.com/legal/privacy.
- Database hosting — authentication infrastructure and data storage.
- Email provider — transactional email delivery (password resets, receipts).
5. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@biohelm.net. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe, generally within 30 days.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and biomarker data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. transaction records for tax purposes).
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies required for login sessions and basic site functionality. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice.
