Medical Disclaimer

Last updated: 5 September 2026

Please read this disclaimer carefully before using BioHelm.

1. Not Medical Advice

BioHelm is a research and educational tool only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations. Nothing on BioHelm — including biomarker values, evidence-tier labels, research targets, research briefs, trend charts, or the Doctor Visit Prep feature — should be interpreted as a medical opinion, diagnosis, or instruction to take or stop any action regarding your health.

Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making any health decisions, including changes to diet, exercise, supplements, or medication, based on information you see in BioHelm.

2. Not a Medical Device

BioHelm is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. It is not registered, cleared, or approved as a medical device by the FDA, the Israeli Ministry of Health, or any other regulatory body. It is a tracking and educational tool for biomarker results you already have.

3. No Doctor-Patient Relationship

Using BioHelm does not create a doctor-patient relationship between you and BioHelm or its operators. We are not your healthcare provider. Any research summaries, citations, or "evidence tier" gradings shown in the app reflect our own review of publicly available research and are provided for educational context only — they are not personalized clinical guidance and are not a substitute for guidance from your own doctor, who knows your full medical history.

4. Research Targets Are Not Clinical Guidelines

BioHelm distinguishes between standard clinical reference ranges (established medical thresholds, e.g. from bodies like the ADA or NCEP) and "research targets" (values discussed in longevity-focused research that have varying degrees of scientific support, labeled by evidence tier in the app). Research targets, especially those in Tier 2 ("research target, exploratory") and Tier 3 ("clinical reference only"), are often based on limited, contested, or observational evidence — not randomized controlled trials proving that hitting a specific number improves health outcomes. Do not treat a research target as a proven, universal goal.

5. Accuracy and Data Entry

Biomarker values in BioHelm are entered manually by you, based on your own lab results. We do not independently verify the accuracy of values you enter, and errors in entry (wrong number, wrong unit, wrong test date) are possible. Always cross-check important results against your original lab report, and discuss any result you don't understand — or any result that concerns you — directly with your doctor rather than relying solely on BioHelm's interpretation of it.

6. Emergency Situations

BioHelm is not for use in medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number (e.g. 101 in Israel, 911 in the US) or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. Do not use BioHelm, or wait to consult BioHelm, before seeking emergency care.

7. Abnormal or Concerning Results

If any biomarker result shown in BioHelm falls outside a standard clinical reference range (labeled "outside clinical range" in the app), this may indicate a condition that warrants prompt medical attention, regardless of what tier that biomarker falls into or whether a longevity research target exists for it. Discuss any such result with your doctor promptly — don't wait for a trend, and don't attempt to self-treat based on information in BioHelm.

8. No Guarantee of Outcomes

BioHelm makes no guarantee that tracking your biomarkers, or working toward any research target shown in the app, will improve your health, extend your lifespan, or prevent any disease. Individual results vary based on factors BioHelm cannot account for, including your full medical history, genetics, and the guidance of your own healthcare provider.
